Retro Disney Earrings! / Bespoke handmade Disneyland inspired mouse earrings with a vintage twist

I was scouring the internet for jewellery for my outfit for a trip I've got booked for Disneyland, after opening a bazillion etsy tabs it lead me down a path of wonderin if I still have my Fimo clay somewhere. 

Turns out I do!


Cue a few days playing around with different designs for mouse ear dangle earrings. My personal favourites are the retro atomic boomerang style.

For those unfamiliar with Fimo, it's a brand of polymer clay. A modelling clay that you bake in the oven to harden.

The process with these was to model the Mickey heads with a set of circles, model the hanging pendant attachment, bake them, then in some cases paint some details on before finishing with a glaze and fixing the backs on.

As each pair is handmade they're completely unique! So they're like wearable little mini pieces of art!

I also made myself an Up! brooch last night from a different brand of clay I sourced to try it out.

It's been fun being creative in a new way, I've not done anything with clay for ages and I'm glad they came out nice!

The earrings be made with post backs for pierced ears or clip ons for non-pierced ears. Prices start from £12 with the more intricate designs being £14. I can also do custom colourways/patterns, just get in touch to discuss!

Second Row: Peachy Keen, fruit inspired peachy toned marbled Mickeys and handmade delicate little peach pendants.

Lemon and Lime, a mid century inspired pair with a tropical feel in bold yellow and green.

Razzle Dazzle, yellow and black retro simple shape Mickeys with hanging circles. 

Tropical Spot, polka dot Mickeys combined with hanging tropical leaves.

Third Row: Candy Pinks, a candy inspired marbled pair of Mickeys in pink tones with purple love hearts.

Tomorrowland one colour, atomic inspired boomerangs with handpainted stars and a dash of glitter.

Polka Love,  heart shaped earrings with hanging Mickey heads in polka dot.

Abstract Pair, a mid century art inspired set with one Mickey and one Minnie complete with little bow in blue white and gold tones.


Fourth Row: Tomorrowland two tone, as before but using clay in two colours.

The Ears, a delicate set shaped like a pair of Mickey and Minnie headbands from the Disney theme parks.

Woody, a cow print pair of Mickey's with hanging detailed cowboy boots.

Tomorrowland marble, as before but using marbled clay in two tones of a colour.

 In follow up to my last one, more hurt time in relation to the same topic... So back in 2020, when I'd just turned 31, I started feeling like I was less sure about whether I wanted kids or not, after 30 odd years of thinking I definitely didn't.  He and I had a conversation about it where I said I was less sure about not wanting them, ie potentially may do at some point, and he said he felt the same so that was good.  We both agreed though that there's an 'order' we'd like to do things and it'd be something to consider after getting engaged and being married.  I said that I'm now in my 30s and as risks start increasing way more rapidly after 34, then maybe it should be a bit of a '5 year plan' (but less...) type deal as with an aim to be trying by at least 34. Questioning

lots of things.  Late night ponderings. Feeling sad. You know when you just want need a hug and that feeling of support from someone and want to be able to trust people around you 100%?  Also, not being able to scream into the world all the reasons why you get these feelings and worries.  I guess this is my vague way of doing that, trying to ease the stress and sadness a bit without actually sharing as such.  Some of the things I'd forgotten myself but had reminders of this eve and, my days,  people can be truly awful.  So immoral and with such horrid ways of looking at things and saying things... Distracting myself with writing. Writing and looking up those daft Leonardo with a smug face memes. Sillyyyyy. They're helping though. As is the writing. I do worry though.
